Chapter Seven

Andrew held Roddy closer and breathed in the scent of his lover’s cologne. He’d memorized that smell, but in the quaintness of Roddy’s condo, everything felt perfect. He liked how they fit together in and out of the club. He could see them spending many weekends together. Hell, he could almost envision them living together. Was that possible for them to go the distance and actually stay a couple? He hoped so.

“So work is all taken care of?” Andrew asked. “Or will they be calling back later?”

“Nah. I’m good.” Roddy turned to look into Andrew’s eyes. “I’m not shocked they needed me, but I wish I wasn’t so important. Thankfully my friend, one of the anchors, stepped in. I’ve got a story about a student art exhibition for tomorrow and a story about the community center for Tuesday or Wednesday. Have you ever heard of the Lyons Community Center? My reporter, Holden, set up an interview with the director and some of the staff. They’ve been doing great with the kids on the south side. The schools are reporting an uptick in the attendance numbers and the grades.”

“I’ve heard of it.” Andrew bit the inside of his cheek to keep from groaning. Fuck. He wasn’t ready to let Roddy into that part of his life yet—not when he hadn’t decided if they were ready to go the distance. He doubted the people at the center would want a Dom in charge of children. Liam hadn’t minded, but others might. What if the general public found out? He knew damn well they’d have a fit. He’d be labeled a sex worker and banned from being around kids.

If he and Roddy were going to be together for more than a few months, he had a plan for the future. No more dates at the club. They’d play at home and he’d work at the community center. But he wanted to sort all of that out first, before he made any rash decisions.

“I don’t know how extensive Holden is getting on the interviews. He’s a good kid—right out of college—but he tends to over-think and film a lot more than he needs.”

Great. He’d have to duck the kid with the mic in order to keep his anonymity. Andrew nodded. “Sometimes overkill is underrated.”

“Can be.” Roddy settled back against Andrew. “Anyway, he’s working out. If this story comes together, I’ll keep him on. The other problem is much tougher. Susan—the bane of my existence—refuses to turn in stories and insists she’s only cut out for reading the news.”

“The girl who does the weather sometimes?” He snorted. “She spends more time confused and pointing to the wrong stuff than she does actually explaining what’s happening on the map.”

“I know. We blew all that money on the radar system only to have her goof it all up.” Roddy sat up then crawled onto Andrew’s lap. “Right now, I’m horny as hell and don’t give a damn about the station. I’d rather have you inside me.”

Andrew slid his hands along Roddy’s thighs.
